win or lose. red sox nation baby!
it's that time of year again when
spirits are amp'd up with eager
anticipation that the home team
will be in the october playoffs.

but for me, it's countdown to the
beginning of the NASCAR chase
championship series. oh yeah,
smoke will be in town shortly.
waiting, watching paint dry.

oh wait, lest i forget so soon
BONO is not too far behind
on U2's 360 tour. exhaling.
we'll be in the same room.

the city where i live

i am a city girl, living in the big apple. an afternoon in central park is easily part of my weekend plans. the subways are my everyday transportation, and anymore, i don't think twice about getting on and off of them, changing trains, or being practically sat on by strangers (and sometimes ones who smell rather unpleasant). now, i feel weird in a car, and i have only driven one time in the last year.

i still have moments where i am amazed that i live in new york city... small town girl from the middle of kansas actually living and loving the city that never sleeps, the city that never stands still, the city that breathes inspiration and creativity into me daily. the other afternoon, when i snapped this photo, i was feeling just right. i knew that i was exactly where i was meant to be. i knew this while sitting in the park watching the people pass, hearing the saxophone music drift across the lawn from a tunnel nearby with my love laying out beside me in the shade.

Where I Live

Where I live, statistically speaking, it is cloudy about 200 days out of the year.

Where I live we have a large landmark known as "The Sun Sphere."

We are optimistic people.
Either that or deeply, deeply conflicted....

Knoxville, Tennessee ... shrouded this morning in the warm damp cover of low clouds...

Where I live...

They say home is where your heart is but I say home is where my family is, and therefore my heart.
Where I live is a simple little house owned by someone else in the SF Bay area.
A little home, a little garden and our little family in a big city.
I always wanted to live by the sea and have a lemon tree.
Now there is a lemon tree in the garden and I live near a bay.

I live...

I live to love and be loved.
I live in a place where I am warm and protected.
I live in a place to which I can retreat, and from where I can venture out.
I live in the moment and I live for the day.
I live in a place where you can stand with one foot in England and one foot in Wales.
A place of castles and rivers and History with a capital H.
This is where I live.

hope lives where i live

hope
lives where i live
floating on air
caressing my face
whispering my name

hope
lives where i live
shining on the flowers
reflecting in the window
awakening my senses

hope
lives where i live
faithful friend
pushing me to
always believe

Home Sweet Home

Where the Heart Is
~ c. Sandy K. at Through the Lens

Not one place,
But a sensory experience -
Michigan.
Where water meets the shore
And trees blow gently in the breeze.
Where surf can be loud and boisterous,
or quiet and gentle.
Where thunder can create an echo
heard miles away.
Where friends and family gather,
and my heart sings.
Where I live is in my heart,
and travels with me.
Home is where my heart is,
and my love.

Where I Live

Behind this door.....

is the first piece of this earth I had ownership over

is where we started a family

is where I learned I was going to be a mommy

is where we brought a 4 lb 12 oz baby home and learned how to be parents

Behind this door there is.....

laughter

tears

stories being read

dancing going on

hearts being filled

Behind this door.....

my cup runneth over.

where i live

It was a Sunday morning, when I snapped this photo. The beautiful man on the bike, was collecting cans and stopped to buy bread in the bakery, I was shopping at. He had a friendly smile. I could have photographed him from the front, but chose to let the people who see the photo, place their own, face on him... maybe someone you wave at from a distance; your abuelo, who sells, caliente chocolate, from his cart. This man, is my city. There are times, when my city breaks my heart, making me feel like a stranger and within a moments time, the city of Milwaukee, takes me by the hand, reminding me I am one of its children. Milwaukee is the 8th most impoverished cities in the nation... that stays within me, always.
The neighborhoods are where our kids played for caribbean soccer teams, where candy is sold door to door, where we shake our head in confusion, as another foreclosure sign goes up... Where we dance to the vibrant colored, dragon, that arrives for chinese new year... It's where I live. : )

where I live

Where I live is an urban oasis.
It is an oversized suit with pockets
of grit and charm, rich and poor,
clattering noise and serene quiet.
Here you can find the mundane and the innovative.
It is one city of neighbourhoods, another of waterfalls.
It is joined by a lake and a highway.
It is somewhat crowded with friends, family, strangers.
It is hated by many.
But it is home, and where I live
between Toronto and Hamilton in Southern Ontario.

this is where i live

I live in a small and simple home surrounded by things I love - furniture my father made and portraits of my daughter painted by my mother. I live in a home that is bathed in beautiful light and secluded by nature even on a busy street, where each season brings me happiness and last just long enough. I live in a home where the mornings are quiet and the evenings even quieter... I live alone. But my parents live close enough that some mornings I am surprised with fresh baked muffins and she can be home in about an hour.

she is my daughter

Where I Live...

...my heart beats outside my body
to the rhythm of books read on the sofa...

Where I Live

I live here. In a small town in the middle of Illinois. In between three interstates. Where a railroad track runs through. Where the Sangamon floods and receeds.
I live here. Where people come to raise their kids and sleep. Where they leave to go to work or to shuttle their kids around. I live where people come home.
I live where you can always tell the seasons by the cover on the corn fiels or by the leaves on the trees. Here in our small town, we are always changing and moving and growing.
I am glad that I am here. This is where I want to be. But I always find myself with my head in the clouds and my heart on the road.

home on the range

this is where I live...
in the middle of Kansas
in the middle of the USA
very near where my mom and dad grew up
we have returned to our home
to raise our kids
where we were raised

Where I Live

Where I live is surrounded by flowers.
Gardens planted while other seeds never took root.
Year after year my garden grew in the yard and in my heart, but not in my womb.
Until...God opened a window where the door had been closed.

Where I live is now home to two children born in Russia and my heart.
More beautiful than any flower I could have ever planted,
I live with some of God's greatest blessings.

Living Here

While I live by a lake I do not live on a lake. I don't get to wake up every morning to the sun rising over the water, that is my dream but I do get to see a scene like this as I drive by it on my way to work. That in itself, is what keeps me going everyday.

Where I Live

I live in a small house
with a big heart

From the outside you might think
"Ay, Que pequeña" "Oh, it's so tiny"
But inside this home live
big dreams
big ideas
big laughter
and sometimes
big tears

In this house resides
everything I live for
my family
my hope
my salvation
my future
my daughter
my husband
my kitty
and my dog
who fills every day with kisses.

In this house I make art
I write with the love passed on from my father
I cook with gratitude for the bounty I never saw in my childhood
and bird houses will be fixed
after the heat of summer
to be ready for the rains of winter

In this house with a big heart
es donde vivo, is where I live.

Where I Live...

...the water is our highway.
I live on Vancouver Island...a ferry ride from the mainland of Canada's west coast.
The ocean impacts our lives in so many ways and to some extent, defines who we are. We're Islanders and life is a little slower here and more laid back than on the mainland.
Sometimes we're called "tree huggers" and "granola crunchers" but really, we're just passionate about our beautiful island...and no, Birkenstocks, with or without socks, do not live in my closet!
My heart loves it here,
and that say's it all!

Where I live

Where I live we play in natures beauty
and
I try and capture that beauty as a photographer,
but
Where I live multitasking is essential
because
Where I live spontaneous cuddles are requested
and sometimes
my photography
has traces of those cuddles in them.

Where I is filled with love
and sometimes sprinkled
with a bit of chaos...
but I am grateful for where I live
and all that comes with it.
