me.

as part of my 52 week self portrait project this year.

Me, Myself and I

Here I am...sunburned nose, hair bleached and frizzed by the sun...in my hotel room in Panama City. I'm of an age now where wrinkles are old news and my next challenge is...when do I let the grey roots grow out and go "au naturel".?

Hmmm...no...not yet. I think I need a few more years!

(I've so enjoyed putting faces to names on this challenge and getting to know each of you a little better!)

it's me

It's me...in my car...where it seems I always am
and yes those are grey hairs

C'est Moi

This is me, warts and all. Well, maybe not warts, but wrinkles aplenty. :) Gosh, self portraits are fun, aren't they?

Me, Myself, and a Sun Ray...

Me Myself and I Don't Know Who

Here I am…

What more can I say?

not really a self portrait

okay, so not exactly a self portrait but i've run out of time in my week and this photo taken on sunday captures the pure madness of my life.
the madness and glamor of motherhood.
...
really my dog is not out of control...i am hamming it up and the dog did spot another dog and was anxious to go.
this is what i look like and feel like.

Oh My Goodness What Am I Doing

Officially I must have lost my mind, I am cringing, but I am not going to let pride get the better of me.  No I am not going to remove this photo, I am gonna let it all hang out.  The wrinkles, the age spots, the yukky bits I can see, and you probably can't because you're all too kind.  But here I am in all my glory.  Lord give me strength.

i have my eye on you guys

Self portrait,

I have been playing around with Photoshop,
trying how to figure it out,
Not too often do I do a self portrait.
But.... here I am!

Self-Portrait

Alright. I'm going to be honest. I don't know how to use the timer thing on my camera. So every picture I take is my squinting or having a double chin. And while I could have posted one of those, it wouldn't have been realistic. I also could have posted one of me all dolled up, also not realistic. This photo was taken of me this last summer and I think it's entirely realistic about who I am on a day-to-day basis. I guess I interpret this challenge as us being realistic about ourselves. And this is me: I wear my hair in a ponytail most days, I rarely wear make-up and I generally have a kid hanging on me. I think I have earrings on because I went to a wedding the day before, but that's not an everyday thing either.
I have enjoyed seeing everyone else's pictures (and especially Beth's voice). So, this is me.

Me.

Self Realisation

I’ve been watching you all from the sidelines this year.
Been busy and getting busier.
The summer holidays are over
Now 3 weeks into the school year
Back to Dancing and Swimming
Soccer starts next month
Then there’s work and Camera Club commitments
No wonder why I always feel exhausted
To top it off I’m up to the wee hours blogging
As it’s the only spare time I have.
They say the camera len sees everything
Well it certainly saw the bags under my eyes
Did the camera make them look 10 times worse?
Or are they really that bad in real life and I just never noticed.
When people comment to me (often) that I look tired are they
Politely saying “geez you have some whopper bags under your eyes”
Photoshop and some black and white processing has fix the issue in the image
But some more serious measures are needed to fix the issue in real life.

self portrait

photobooth

Is it true? we are what we think. I believe there is beauty in each and every one of us. Sometimes I just have a hard time seeing it in myself. There is power in the mind. Believing. I believe? I believe.

Self. ish.

Selfie

quick to laugh
a little silly
some say "goofy"

they'd be right.

self portrait and baring it all....

I'm taking an online class
where we just worked on self portraits and loving ourselves the way we are
which
is NOT easy
to do
~~
so to really step outside my comfort zone and make my armpits really sweat
I made a video of me
which is new to you
if you didn't already see it on my blog

self portrait

Just for you
trying to not show
my impatience
at 198
imperfect shots

Self portrait

This is me.
I'm hiding inside my sweater,
because I don't like the way my lips look in photos.
The older I get, the more assymetrical my upper lip looks.
And I always thought that my nose was almost straight,
But now I see that it bumps out to the side right before the tip.
My hair is hiding my left cheek,
because I have a large circle of sun damage there.
You can see on my right cheek the smaller "freckles".
Too many hours lying in the sun
before there was sunscreen
and I probably wouldn't have used it anyway.
There was baby oil
and even better,
baby oil with iodine in it.
I never liked Hawaiian Tropic,
because it smelled liked coconut oil.
With the sun rays beating down upon my face,
listening to WKEE-AM,
they said it was okay.
They said, "Time to turn, so you won't burn."
Every fifteen minutes
like clockwork.
My skin sizzled to the perfect tan.
