My brother was married yesterday to this amazingly beautiful and sweet girl. The love they share is more than I could have ever wished for my brother. Being here the past few days with them has made me realize just how much I miss him. I have many siblings and am close to most of them, but because of our situation, Ben and I have always been the closest. I feel so lucky to now have a wonderful sister-in-law to join our friendship. He could not have found a better wife, a better second half :) My wish for them is that their love will only get sweeter in their lives together.
a day before the ball dropped in times square to mark the beginning of 2010, i was there adding my wishes for 2010 to the collection of confetti that would rain down at the stroke of midnight. they were then added to the wall with all the other wishes made for 2010. i made two wishes, one silly and the other a simple, but more serious wish. my first was that my husband would take over dish duty for 2010 (he he... i'm just dreaming), and my second wish was simply for peace. (more photos here...) i think next year i'll collect some wishes from people who can't go down to times square and go on down and write their wishes on confetti for them :)
it seems a dream, a glimpse of a memory passing only for a moment. faded. blurred. not as clear as it was in the moment i was actually breathing it, actually living it, experiencing it.
While admiring the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge in Dumbo, Brooklyn last night, we were asked to take a photo of a group of tourists. They laughed as they put on these funny glasses (calling them Japanese toys). We got quite a laugh when they turned around and insisted that we try them as well. So, here, I see my husband with two of his siblings and funny Japanese toys (& the Brooklyn Bridge lights sparkling in the background).
i am a city girl, living in the big apple. an afternoon in central park is easily part of my weekend plans. the subways are my everyday transportation, and anymore, i don't think twice about getting on and off of them, changing trains, or being practically sat on by strangers (and sometimes ones who smell rather unpleasant). now, i feel weird in a car, and i have only driven one time in the last year.Elegant de BlogMundi |
