I am finally beginning to fall in love with my new home... I am a Midwest transplant (from Chicago). Born and raised in Illinois...moving out west was quite a BIG change for me. After 2 years, I am feeling more and more at home (although my heart will always be in Illinois).
But what is not to love about surfers and sunsets? Warm weather year round and no scraping ice off the windshield in -4 degree weather? So yes, this midwest girl has swapped her winter boots for flip-flops...and I am lovin' it!
I would love to wear flip flops every day!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo ~~ love it.
This is so fun to see all the pics, and to read the personal commentary from everyone!!
beautiful shot! I can imagine that was a huge change for you. brrrr, who like ice on their windshield anyway?
ReplyDeleteso beautiful....
ReplyDeleteI'm a midwest girl, but a florida girl at heart, after years of vacationing there...
I will never miss the snow once I'm away from it from good !
That is a gorgeous sunset shot!
ReplyDeleteI'm a Midwest girl, too, and I'm still here! That is, after having moved around the country a little...Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and now in my home state, though not in my hometown.
i want to live here. quite the change, Im sure...wonderful pic!
ReplyDeletethe hue in this quiet end of the day image just speaks of peace and renewal

ReplyDeleteOh how beautiful! Do you truly miss Chicago winters? Your new home looks like paradise to me. lol Hi there from a Jersey girl, where the winters are not so nice either!
ReplyDeleteWow...what a picture.
ReplyDeleteI miss being by the Sea...and warmth all year round. I used to live in Mallorca in Spain, and now am in chilly Canada...South Eastern Canada...

Gorgeous colors and silouettes here!
ReplyDeletesounds wonderful and looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt must be so inspirational to watch the sun go down over the Pacific. Wonderful picture.
ReplyDeletei'm not going to lie: i want to be there right now. i'm in illinois and i'd so much rather be there! (illinois isn't where i was raised, though, either...and i'm sure that has something to do with it)
ReplyDeleteCaroline, this is beautiful. I love the ocean and feel disoriented when I live away from it but I know the midwest has it's own beauty too. (I've been to Chicago for work several times and have friends who live just south of there). It does take time to transplant ourselves and feel at home in new surroundings.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous sunset!
Beautiful shot. Love Chicago - don't care for the cold, though. Wish I was close to a beach, too!
ReplyDeletea sunset over an ocean ... bliss. lovely photo.
