journey

there are many kinds of journeys - the journeys of the heart, the mind, the body.  good and bad journeys - for happy reasons, for sad reasons....just many kinds.  but lately, most of my journeys have involved flying off to meetings because my personal journey over the past two years has been a major career shift.  from banking back to public service via the medicaid agency.

and though i've seen lots of airports in both jobs, i never tire of going to new places and discovering new things.  i'm comfortable by myself - i've learned to eat by myself and to find my own way - ms. independence.  i like that about me.  that makes having company all the more wonderful - someone to share what i've learned.  thank you for sharing my journeys.

Journey - But not mine

I was thinking heavy on the subject "Journey". I wasn't going to post. My mind was blank for new shots representing what I conceived to be a profound representation of my life thus far. So I sectioned it out to this photo at the last minute. The journey of all the lives involved in building the Hoover Dam and now (well as of last January) the new bypass (upper left, still under construction). This is taken from the Arizona side. I remember in the '80's, Lake Mead's waterline nearing the top of the pylons. The journey of the lake has it much lower now. Of course clicking on it will give you a closer look.

Journey

2010 05 02_8718e

A cloud
a raindrop
a puddle
a trickle
a stream
a creek
a river
an ocean ... what a journey.

Journey

Just when the caterpillar
thought the world was over,
he became a butterfly.

My daughter is fascinated and I reluctantly agree to allow her a few caterpillars. (I don't like to see living creatures caged up.) However, it is a wonderful cycle of nature to watch.
And it beats taking care of tadpoles - 25 of them to be exact.
Never again.

Fuji

the journey was brief, only a couple of miles of walking.

the rewards were enormous,
delicious,
and completely satisfying...

Journey

My Journey does not take me far.
But where I am, can be colorful
and interesting enough for me.
I don't chase rainbows,
I've already caught
one!

journey

I didn't journey far but my mind was miles away. Sometimes I think I have to get in a car, or take a plane – travel far away – to experience something new and exciting... but sometimes it's right there in my own backyard .

Our Journey

My Journey
Each day is a journey…something we take by going.

Sometimes we visit by going away, leaving things behind, only to return later.

Sometimes it is a stopover we take by capturing single moments for time’s sake…
so we can play with the memories later.

Sometimes it is a voyage we take through someone else’s
life, by crossing into another time or place.

Whether the journey is by dreaming, recording,
or actuality it is none-the-less a journey…

Our Journey

I’m lovin’ my ride though life…

Journey….

…Really two journeys…my journey on the path to where I watch and enjoy my grandchildren…and their journey on the path of their futures…It is rewarding to be here….

Au Revoir mon ami

My spotty pink case is packed, my camera is stowed away ready to bring back some memories.  My passport with the photograph that I will never show anyone unnecessarily is ready to go.  I have my ticket and some money, coins for the metro and bus and notes for some serious spending.  Wish me well with that won't you!!  The notes are written to remind my girls of what needs to be done and in just a few hours the journey will begin.  Follow me won't you.  Paris here we come.

my journey

Since January, this has been my journey.
I have been training for my second half-marathon.
On Sunday I will run in Lincoln, NE.
13.1 miles.

This journey is more of a mental one for me than physical.
I KNOW I can run the 13.1 miles.

I do this to prove to myself that I can keep going...
that when I am tired of running, I can get into that zone and finish.
I will do it this time to finish faster than last year.

My friends and I do this for the camaraderie.
We do this for ourselves, and for some girl time.
We support each other throughout our training,
with shoulders, band aids, and high-fives and smiles and tears.

Will I see you in the crowds in Lincoln?
I like to imagine that you are all out there...
rooting

us on.

Key Elements For Any Good Journey

For a child a journey is an adventure, full of anticipation and excitement for what new and interesting things they will see, the people they may meet and the events that occur. These are the 3 key aspects that make a journey memorable. These are the things that will have them talk about the journey for years to come.

Journeys are like chapters in the book about our lives. Everybody should have at least one journey to reminisce joyfully over. Oh and what about those mishaps you have on the way, well they're an extra bonus that make your story all the more interesting.

Journey

Too often we are so preoccupied with the destination, we forget the journey.
These are my two boys, enjoying the journey.
