LOVE is...

sweet...sweet smiles...

Spanish rocks...

the Earth's floor...the seas edge...the hard fall...the Sculptor's playground...an animal's home...

a never ending array of colour.

This photo was taken in Mallorca where I used to live...here you are approximately 300m high.

REALITY...

is...that we all have way too many materialistic possessions. We need as a Nation to give more instead of buying more for ourselves.(I included)
So...to really appreciate how much I have, I am beginning a new project where I will sketch every pair of shoes in my wardrobe. The majority of shoes were bought before kids arrived on the scene.
I just need to get my life into a new perspective...it'll be self reflective along with challenging and rewarding.
I am planning on selling the sketches/drawings or paintings in an Esty Store and donating a portion of the sales to Haiti.

cool shadows...

we had bright lights and cool shadows whilst over in UK for Christmas...I know I have been slacking and haven't posted recently...but a New Year has brought new scheduling and L.U.T will be included in it.

looking up...

Crisp air...brilliant blues...silhouettes...
The change of season definitely brings some extraordinary views...especially whilst looking up.

Another very rushed week...not sure where it went...but I managed to squeeze in this image. Fortunately here in Canada we are blessed with so much light throughout the Winter that even with the cold approaching the Sun still shines high in the sky, and manages to make every season stunning.

Doors of History

I used to live in Mallorca in Spain.
These doors could be seen around every corner you'd turn.
So intricate and beautifully crafted...so much history with every hand that opened each door and soul which passed through.

Passionate through and through...

Throughout our childhood, our Mum was passionate about everything...and she encouraged our passions...
I drew daily...she was passionate about it...
I danced with passion...she always said "whatever we loved to do...she would support"...
She was passionate about nature and being part of it as often as we could...
I am trying to install those passions in our girl's childhood...
Childhood Passions are passed down through generations in our Family...creating wonderful memories.

simple...

Sometimes we try too hard...to make a day full of fun things to experience.
Sometimes we just need to remember the simplicity of Life around us, because these are the moments we treasure within for years to come.

This week has been SO busy for me...and NOT simple at all...and I SO nearly didn't make this post...but I took a few hours out of my CRAZY pace of Life and today we enjoyed where we simply belong...in Nature.

In Season

Each Season has it's treasures.
Each corner of our Earth provides different delights.
In season...the fuzz on these peaches create such a magical reflective light, it's a painters dream.
Until then...I'll just eat what's in season...

I love to keep the Scandinavian traditions and designs in our home which I've been brought up with...but I think growing up in England rubbed off on me just a little as I can't do without my Earl!

Apricot Orange

I never liked the flavour until I was 13 and tried "Gelato di Albicocca" in a gelateria in Le Cinque Terra in Italy. YUM.
Our girls think apricots are gummie sweets! Fooled!!!
Dried apricots to me are the perfect Orange.
It's little Miss J's favourite colour...and why not...it's warm and sunny.

NEVER out of Focus...

Beyond the *out of focus*...these girls of mine will ALWAYS be in focus through my eyes.

Who I see...

I see my Life.
I see my dream...come true.
I see love, happiness and laughter.
I see my rock.
I see my Family.
I see my Future.
I see the TRUTH...
in all three who I see.

Abandoned...for a little while.

My abandoned Studio...
When we moved into our home 3 years ago...everything went into the basement. I organised my "SPACE" down there and called it my "STUDIO"...BUT, I have abandoned my studio since then.Now I paint in other peoples houses and I store paints downstairs, and yet, this has been one of my most productive years since moving here to Canada.
This winter there will be a transformation hopefully,wires which are hanging from the ceiling will be tucked away,shelves will be functional...I will have room to unpack all 7 boxes FULL of art books(which I haven't had time to read...but love to look at and through)...my husband has promised to create and build a studio for me...thank you darling partner.It will feel good not to have guilt strike through my body every time I enter my "Space".
