out my window

It might not be particularly extraordinary but I was surprised, and excited, when I looked out my window one day and saw this little chickadee at home in this little ceramic house. I've had it hanging there for years and to my knowledge no bird has ever occupied it. It makes me happy to know she's there.

Do You See Her?

I think she's been here a long time, I only met her last week though.  Standing watering the agapanthus at her feet I looked up and there she was.  Stretching to the sky, tummy held flat and not ashamed at all of her nakedness.  I love meeting new people and she is welcome to hang around for as long as she would like.  She stands at my front gate and welcomes me whenever I come home.

VROOM!

Somewhere in a Las Vegas casino rests this intensely extraordinary motor bike. The artist hand forged the metal structure to form the detailed body of a voluptuous women. Inside her bodice sits the gas tank while her long hair straddles the seat flowing back over the wheel. Her high heeled boots complete the illusion that the women is the bike. Seductive, original and chalk full of creativity. By clicking on it you'll get a closer look at the masterful detail.

i always find the circle of life quite extraordinary. one circle ends and another begins. the one would have been thrilled to know the other.

(forgive the early morning low light - she awoke at 5:30 hungry and i didn't want to turn on the light or chance waking up her sister)

it's also extraordinary that i'm blessed with her in my life. it amazes me each time i see her.

Live a life less ordinary
Live a life extraordinary with me
Live a life less sedentary
Live a life evolutionary with me (lyrics by carbon leaf)

extraordinary

"She said she usually cried at least once each day not because she was sad, but because the world was so beautiful & life was so short."
-storypeople-

I've been thinking a lot about the
little ordinary details
that I often overlook. They're everywhere,
all around me. And, they are many times
extraordinary when I take a moment to truly see them.

Extraordinary find

My weekly trip to Goodwill (actually there have been two different ones this week) gave me this extraordinary find.

I had been thinking about ordering an Ott-Lite from Jo-Ann's when my eagle eye spotted this one on a shelf for $2.00. The 50% off price at Jo-Ann's is $49.99 plus shipping and handling.

The sewing machine is a vintage Kenmore that I bought new in 1976. It has all steel gears. They don't make them like that anymore.

extraordinary

sometimes the simple acts in life are the most extraordinary.
the flour, yeast, salt and warm water that make extraordinary bread.
the everyday acts of packing a lunch, tossing in another load of laundry and cooking soup make for extraordinary care.
i often ponder if i have an extraordinary life, something i long for.
but the truth is, because of love it is extraordinary.
not glamorous or enviable but extraordinary indeed.

Extraordinary!

Sometimes
when we
find it.
It can be
Extraordinary!

Extraordinary

To me nature has always been extraordinary. It reinvents itself by the minute and just takes my breadth away.

"A cloud does not know why it moves in just such a direction and at such a speed... It feels an impulsion.... this is the place to go now. But the sky knows the reasons and the patterns behind all clouds, and you will know, too, when you lift yourself high enough to see beyond horizons"
