..::simply something::..

she's simply something. something that has come out of my studio hibernation. for the past few weeks i have felt pulled into my studio....to simply do something......to simply "be" there.

i have lots of plans for my art, though i don't believe this style will be included in my new artsy adventures (not sure yet? what do you think?), but i do believe she signifies a sense of "simply having simplicity" in my life. this was majorly tweaked from different photos (flower outline & vintage wallpaper) & textures i had & combined with one of my paintings.

so much of my energy goes into worrying, wondering and constantly striving. i sometimes forget how beautiful it can be to have a simplistic approach to life.

..::orange {morning & sunshine}::..

first, mama showed up with one kitty. the littlest teeny bitty kitty i have ever seen. then, four more teeny bitty kitties showed up. then, yet another. five kitties are orange & tiger striped like mama, but there's one that has calico in it. so, here i am....with a porch full of orange and meowing. guess what i did today instead of get work done...that's right, i bought kitty food ;o)

at first, i named mama "morning" and the kitty "sunshine". now i'm just calling them KC & the sunshine band, lol.

in my town, a romantic summer evening consists of a band outdoors, barefeet in tall grass, stars that stretch for miles and fireflies who frolic in abandoned fields.

it's bittersweet to watch summer go. but heavenly to think of all the warm apple cider and chilly nights to come ;)
