journey

there are many kinds of journeys - the journeys of the heart, the mind, the body.  good and bad journeys - for happy reasons, for sad reasons....just many kinds.  but lately, most of my journeys have involved flying off to meetings because my personal journey over the past two years has been a major career shift.  from banking back to public service via the medicaid agency.

and though i've seen lots of airports in both jobs, i never tire of going to new places and discovering new things.  i'm comfortable by myself - i've learned to eat by myself and to find my own way - ms. independence.  i like that about me.  that makes having company all the more wonderful - someone to share what i've learned.  thank you for sharing my journeys.

my favorite reading spot during the spring.  you can see the anti mosquito spray nearby - i planted zinnias and dahlias last weekend which were pretty beat up by the storms yesterday.  hopefully next weekend i can work on an herb container garden.

sliding in at the last minute

i live in the city....and it seems we do not have many bare rocks here, nor have i collected any. but today i was captivated by the sun's warmth on man-made 'rocks'....or, uh...bricks as we city folk like to call them.

i wondered around the old cemetery, you know the part that is falling apart. so many beautiful words, so many broken hearts.

but in the midst of it all, life finds a way - from the moss in the cracked brick, the trees pushing forth tiny buds, the light on the brick. all of it affirming that life, no matter the chaos, finds a way.

i always find the circle of life quite extraordinary. one circle ends and another begins. the one would have been thrilled to know the other.

(forgive the early morning low light - she awoke at 5:30 hungry and i didn't want to turn on the light or chance waking up her sister)

it's also extraordinary that i'm blessed with her in my life. it amazes me each time i see her.
