Prepared

When I travel during the winter months I try to prepare by taking a few creative tools to play with. Some years my suitcase is more art supplies than clothes but last year I kept it simple. I took a small sketch book/art journal, a box of watercolour paints, a few brushes, pens and a glue stick. It was very low key, without any direction except to let myself play!
These few items didn't take up a lot of room in my suitcase and provided that needed fix for creative play. When travelling, it pays to be prepared...bathing suit...check, flip flops...check, paints...check...!

prepared.....

for me
it means always having my camera with me
~~
i know
i'm a dork
standing in the bathroom of the "general store" in spring green
but
it's the cutest bathroom ever
and
it's also the best smelling one i've ever been in
so i wasn't in a rush to get out
and
since my camera was hanging right there next to my purse
~~
well
like i said
i'm a dork

Being Prepared.

Hi I was not sure what I was going to do for this theme this week.
Today it became very obvious and a reminder
that when living in Canada,
you never put your parkas, boots, toques, mitts or shovels away
until June if you want to be prepared.
Yesterday the lilac tree was green and we cut the grass two days ago.
We always are prepared for the Unexpected!
So guess where I am going?
Yes outside to shovel, in a while.

Prepared

What are you always prepared for?

For me, from May til October, I have a large garden from which to cut and take fresh bouquets to friends, hostesses or for visiting guest's in their room. It's a tradition my Mother started when I was very young and she'd cut her lilacs and give them away. (Only to nice neighbors!)

I am also prepared with a baggy of Milkbones I keep in my car in case I come across any hungry, stray dogs on my travels.
The flowers make for a better photo, though.

I look forward to seeing what you all are prepared for - and if you ever visit, I'll have fresh flowers for you, too!
