My artist brushes lie in wait for me, as my painting skills seem to be an in-and-out work of art these days. Some days it seems so selectively out-of-focus that I do not think I even remember how to being. It’s like a far off bokeh that I see as a circle of confusion, all fuzzy and dim. I know it’s still within me, a great aesthetic quality which I was born with, a God given talent. So I must find it again and get rid of the distractions. Until then the brushes will remain at rest; as a blurred vision of neglected paraphernalia of my talents...waiting and waiting.
For now the camera has taken over my priorities.

loved this as soon as i saw it on flickr. beautiful shot and processing. i always said i became a photographer because i couldn't paint. i wish i had your talent to both paint and photograph.
ReplyDeleteI love to paint and hate it that real life takes over so often. Lovely picture of your aspirations.
ReplyDeleteit's a great shot...to think you're not using your Art talent...get back there soon...you'll love it!
ReplyDeleteI think we can all feel this about our brushes, mine have not been used for awhile, maybe I will start again soon. thanks for the motivation. good luck with your painting.
ReplyDeletepainting with a camera is OK and I am in awe...
ReplyDeleteI love this...the processing is perfect. Fabulous, Cora!
ReplyDeleteI paint too, but haven't in years! The camera has taken over my life for now... So like you, my brushes sit quietly in the dark, until the light within me turns on.
ReplyDeletelovely image! i tend to go in phases and my current phase focuses on photography more than my mixed media art. the circle will come back around and hope it will for you too if that is what you want.
ReplyDeleteYour brushes will be so happy when you come back to them! Love the processing.
ReplyDeleteDon't be too hard on yourself, Cora! Your photos are inspiring! Great tie-in with the theme, too.
ReplyDeleteOh, I know exactly what you mean. I've become a bit obsessed with the camera recently, too...
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!

ReplyDeleteIt is hard to keep focused on more than one thing at a time...it is good to take things in turn...Your photography is gorgeous...like a painting!
