I've been complaining a lot lately - focused too much on the bad instead of the good, on the wants instead of the haves. It's time to change the focus - switch off the automatic focus that is on me and to use the manual focus and purposely focus outside of myself.
"If you want a better life, better health, and the sense of being connected and hopeful in this world, the answer is to give." It's a scientific fact. Volunteering beats out exercising four times a week by 30 % when it comes to promoting longevity. Article by Terri Trespicio in Body & Soul magazine.
Yes, I have to remind myself to adapt this focus often. Beautiful image!

it's always a good shift to do this. great shot to remind me of the proper focus.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and great thoughts. I volunteered 2 years ago at a Refugee Support Centre, helped a family of 8 now 9 settle in Australia and now have a baby nemed after me and some of the nicest most generous loving friends ever. Both African and other volunteers. I also ended with a years contract work so volunteering is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love your take on "focus" and how right you are. I think service is a wonderful way to get outta your own head if you know what I mean.
