I watch as he pulls the text far from his eyes. He squints. He shakes his head. He turns the light on brighter. He reaches for his glasses, purchased from a grocery store. Now he reads. "Clear as a bell" he says. This man is my husband of 24 years and 11 months. I am not far behind. I must turn my light up brighter, too. But I don't pull the text away, nor wear the glasses. Yet.
i do...i now rock a pair of nerd 'cheaters'...i feel like tina fey. (heh heh, i wish)

Too many days I have had the same thing, One paper I can read, the other not. It starts happening to most of us at around 40. I have to get a pair of readers for sure, as it is I am always searching for them now. It was a brillant post, looking right through a pair of eyes. take care.

ReplyDeleteYep, my husband does the same thing...I broke down and did the progressive lenses several years ago and it changed my life. Now I need new ones. Great idea for the theme!

Just started wearing glasses for reading last year...it's a strange feeling...not having that focus!

ReplyDeleteOh, your day will come, when you carry one pair of glasses in your purse, have one pair in the console of your car, a pair in your office and every room in your house ... AND always have a pair either in your pocket,the front of your shirt, or perched on top of your head!

At age 40 I started wearing the over the counter specs too...since then I have progressed to very expensive progressive glasses...such is life!
