Where I Live

I live here. In a small town in the middle of Illinois. In between three interstates. Where a railroad track runs through. Where the Sangamon floods and receeds.
I live here. Where people come to raise their kids and sleep. Where they leave to go to work or to shuttle their kids around. I live where people come home.
I live where you can always tell the seasons by the cover on the corn fiels or by the leaves on the trees. Here in our small town, we are always changing and moving and growing.
I am glad that I am here. This is where I want to be. But I always find myself with my head in the clouds and my heart on the road.

  7. I really love small towns...they have a heart that cities sometimes lack. I like your "high" perspective for the photograph as it matches your comment that your head is in the clouds! I live at sea level and my head is in the clouds too.
    Nice to meet you Dani!

  13. Small towns near big cities are the best! You have the comfort of home with exciting things happening near enough to hop in the car and partake as you wish.
