the lush ripeness of a perfect red Bartlett pear
spinach that has been touched by a hint of cool weather
the sharp creaminess of Salem bleu cheese
the crunch of toasted sliced almonds
the tender sweetness of chewy dried cranberries
topped with a lemony vinaigrette
and a grind or two of black pepper....
because of this salad, autumn is the season for me
