Looking up

Funny...I don't really think to look up much when I photograph.  So today I set out to capture something... I was almost ready to give up when I turned a corner to find these birds resting.  I was tempted to stand directly underneath...but then I thought the odds of getting creamed were pretty high...lol.

  1. Caroline, this is a great shot, in lots of my looking up shots, I end up having power lines in them by accident, but this one is fabulous.

  2. Wonderful picture, Caroline, but definitely best viewed off to the side and NOT in the line of fire.

  5. this is fabulous...I love birds on a wire....and watching them fly in and find spots when most of the wire is full, is such a treat....

and yeah, I hear you on the standing underneath the whole bird party...bird pooh on the face or head is not fun...but I understand it means good luck in tuscany....

  6. I personally love this! Is'nt it funny how these themes challenge us to look at things we would have never taken a shot at before!

  12. I love this photo, and the commercial on televison where the stymied composer can't think what to create, and looks at the birds on the wire...playing the "melody" in the image. The melody you've found would take a master:).

What technique did you use to get the slightly textured look? And the warm tone?
