sometimes
hearts are broken
into little pieces
and
even when you put them back together
they never fit perfectly
because
the edges are rough
and
there are gaps
and
the softness that was once there
is hard
~~
but
it survives
~~
but
the rhythm is off
and
it's frail to the touch
~~
and
the love it once held
is
questioned and tested
but
it keeps beating
~~
and
all you can do
is hope and pray
that
with enough love
and
understanding
the pieces of the broken heart
stay close enough together
to become one
again

I think mended things hold more beauty than the shiney bright new things...it shows someone cares enough to put things back together...

ReplyDeletethe edge doesn't care, because the rocky heart will be one again, and, certainly, I'll be sweet.
