It might not be particularly extraordinary but I was surprised, and excited, when I looked out my window one day and saw this little chickadee at home in this little ceramic house. I've had it hanging there for years and to my knowledge no bird has ever occupied it. It makes me happy to know she's there.

ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet! I love chickadees! I wouldn't think she could make much of a nest in that little spot, but she seems to think it's The Best Nest!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a beautiful spot, I an unsure why the little chickadee's have not occupied this spot earlier.
ReplyDeletechickadees make me happy - yay for a sweet one finding a new little nest.
ReplyDeletehope you have a beautiful weekend.
That is to cute, strange where they find to hideaway. Gorgeous view out your window, wow wish I had you view I would be home all the time!
ReplyDeleteoh this thrills me...i love birds that do such cool things ...this is a wonderful photo with the black fence and all !
ReplyDeleteI know this thrill...we just put a bird house up last week and although we had a bird flying in with her nesting "stuff", she must have decided it wasn't quite right because she left. For a few days I was thrilled...and then dissapointed, but I know some day...like your bird house...it will be occupied by a feathered family. Keep us posted about the hatching of the chicks!
ReplyDeleteOh, but it IS extraordinary! We see chickadees all the time, but I've never gotten to see them nest. I agree -- you should keep us posted!
