Where I Live

I live in Edmonton, Canada where the temperature is approximately anywhere from plus 35 to minus 30, sometimes -50 with the windchill. It is home for one of the worlds largest malls, being The West Edmonton Mall. We are also known for our Oilers hockey Team where the famous Wayne Gretzky made his career. We are also known for our festivals that run all year long. I have lived here and have loved it for approximately 20 years and have no plans to move elsewhere. There is no place like home.

  4. the rules are what beth said - not many - just friendship, sharing and challenges. the group is a challenge to take a new shot each week that meets the theme. we will each take a week to pick a theme and play hostess.

a great way to get to know each other.

  10. Lovely view of your city! It takes some hearty blood to withstand those temps! It's probably as thick as molasses in the winter!

  11. It is a great experience to step outside, the freshness on a really cold day is undescribable. Last year we had a friend come from Mexico, He had never seen snow before, he said he never warmed up the whole time he was here and that he had to eat more here to keep warm! Just think skidooing, skiing, hockey, dogsledding, etc...I think we get used to the cold...note to self..someday move to a warmer climate or at least holiday. lol. Glad to meet everyone. Take care.

  24. Hello to a fellow Canadian. I've not been to Edmonton sin the 60s, but I know people who travel just to go to West Ed! I think it's sad, but what to I know, eh?

  25. I meant sad that they only go to visit a shopping mall - I bet they see nothing else of the city.

  26. VioletSky, Very few of us Edmontonians go to the mall, it is definately still a tourist attraction. Hello back to a fellow Canadian, there are quite a few of us here!
