Melbourne, Australia is where I live.
I could've picked a beauty shot of our city, but to me, this is what my home is all about.
Old buildings, cold climate, green trees, big sky, platform stations, with my favourite transport - the train, carving a path to the city.

love the cross processing and what makes it real. I wish we had a cool train.
ReplyDeleteit looks beautiful to me....
ReplyDeleteand a cold climate...really ?
I never knew....
Australia is definitely on my "Bucket List"!!
ReplyDeletetoni hello from far away ...swooning at the sky in your image!
ReplyDeleteToni, beautiful shot! I really love how this photo is tall... makes me feel like those tracks are just heading off into the distance of your home! When I was contemplating how I would share "my home" I actually considered tracks as well... They are such a part of my life and also my true love when it comes to transit!
ReplyDeletei was in melbourne for a fortnight's holiday in 2000 - the temperature was above 40 degrees celcius for the whole fortnight. hated the heat, but loved the city.
ReplyDeleteLovely treatment...it makes the tracks seem grittier as it usually is around lots of railway tracks.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to visit Australia. Some day...some day I will.
ReplyDeleteOh what a gorgeous photo! Australia seems like such a beautiful, wild and magical place. I would love to see it someday... but unfortunately the closest I'll ever get will probably be the Outback Steakhouse. :)
ReplyDeleteI love industrial, gritty photos...but you have made this one beautiful too....wonderful colors to make the whold scene warm...
ReplyDeleteThis is great...the colours are awesome...I have a lot to learn here.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Visiting Australia is on the list of things I want to do.....sounds lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeth, it is a hot little place in Summer, but I guess it is a change for me coming from Perth. Now that is one hot city!
ReplyDeleteI like the retro look of this photo. It is a perfect fit with the urban landscape of your home.
ReplyDeleteglad to see some of your aussie life! and i never think of there being cold. or having snow. i always learn so much from you!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the sky in this photo - beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Tony and I'm so glad we'll have an Aussie perspective here and I've heard such great things about Melbourne from friends who have visited. I really love the retro treatment on your photograph.
ReplyDeleteSuper photo! Like your processing and the reality of it. Also like how all the power lines and track lines pull your eye into the photograph. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI loved Melbourne when I visited, but really, "cold"? It's all relative!!
ReplyDeletei always speak of visiting my friend there. i sure hope we make our words reality. your photo is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteGreat that you chose a 'real' shot that means something to you. I love it:)
ReplyDeleteSuper photo - so crisp and, as has been very well said, "gritty". Love it!
