Abandoned but not forgotten,
Deserted but not delinquent,
Ruined but not relinquished,
Broken but not seedy.
A congregation of walkers and nature lovers come to pay homage to this ancient church of St James at Lancaut, in the Wye Valley.
The church, parts of which date back to the early 13th Century, was abandoned in 1865.

ReplyDeleteTHIS is a fantastic photo! I love the angle -- love the shallow depth of feel -- love how the abandoned church seems all the more mysterious because of your treatment here.
ReplyDeleteLove it, great to have the history of the church too. Love how you have the church in the background. I can learn so much here from all of you. Take care.
