Abandoned but not forgotten.

Abandoned but not forgotten,
Deserted but not delinquent,
Ruined but not relinquished,
Broken but not seedy.

A congregation of walkers and nature lovers come to pay homage to this ancient church of St James at Lancaut, in the Wye Valley.

The church, parts of which date back to the early 13th Century, was abandoned in 1865.

  4. THIS is a fantastic photo! I love the angle -- love the shallow depth of feel -- love how the abandoned church seems all the more mysterious because of your treatment here.

  7. Wow, that is so cool. I love how it's missing it's roof and the angle you used when photographing it.

  8. Built in the 13th century...imagine the things those old walls have heard. Yes, I too would have to go and give homage to that place. Lovely photo.
