A Vicarious Talent
So I thought I could pick up the piano as a 40 something young gal. It seemed easy enough for my 13 year old for the past 5 years. Nine months of wonderful lessons followed by a summer break and now every thing's a blur.
I tried piano lessons when my daughter was 7 and I was 35...I lasted longer than she did, a whole year, but to no avail...my fingers just wouldn't move as fast as my brain, no matter what I did. Hang in there! I wish I had.
Beautifully shot! Oh how I would love to be able to play the piano but, alas, I quit lessons when I was seven years old... my teacher ate lunch while she was teaching me, and I hated the whole recital thing... ;)
i think it's wonderful that you picked up piano at a later age. i'm sure it will all come back to you with a little more time. great take on the theme. don't give up!
I took my turn yesterday on my granddaughter's new (gently used) piano...we all did, my daughter in law, my son, me and my mother. We all picked out whatever we could remember from lessons long ago. My mother actually plays beautifully, but hasn't practiced in a long time. It will come back to you.
Oh good for you it is difficult I could never get my fingers to spread out enough or to hit the keys I wanted good on you for trying and I really like the shot too!
i'd love to learn to play the photo as well but fear i would be awful at it. i took tap dance classes when i was 35 and i sucked. hee hee
ReplyDeletewonderful photo!
:-) Great photo! Don't worry -- it will come back to you very quickly once you start those lessons back up!
ReplyDeleteI admire you for picking that up and trying it. I bet it will come back to you. beautiful shot too
ReplyDeleteYou go! I started playing guitar not long ago, as a 40ish gal...definitely a learning curve, but so worth it!
