A Vicarious Talent

So I thought I could pick up the piano as a 40 something young gal. It seemed easy enough for my 13 year old for the past 5 years. Nine months of wonderful lessons followed by a summer break and now every thing's a blur.

  4. You go! I started playing guitar not long ago, as a 40ish gal...definitely a learning curve, but so worth it!

  5. I tried piano lessons when my daughter was 7 and I was 35...I lasted longer than she did, a whole year, but to no avail...my fingers just wouldn't move as fast as my brain, no matter what I did. Hang in there! I wish I had.

  6. Beautifully shot! Oh how I would love to be able to play the piano but, alas, I quit lessons when I was seven years old... my teacher ate lunch while she was teaching me, and I hated the whole recital thing... ;)

  10. I took my turn yesterday on my granddaughter's new (gently used) piano...we all did, my daughter in law, my son, me and my mother. We all picked out whatever we could remember from lessons long ago. My mother actually plays beautifully, but hasn't practiced in a long time. It will come back to you.
