Autumn is the time we walk outside and either find ourselves entangled in an invisible strand of stickiness or abruptly stopping to avoid smashing head on with a gigantic spider sitting in the middle of it's beautifully stretched web. They are particularly large this time of year. After a summer of hiding and growing they come out into the open. Creepy & mesmerising in the same feeling, each time I encounter them. It's victim this time is an innocent pine needle. click on it...you'll be engaged in it's spider stare down.
Nice close up. I have a plethora of webs around here as well.
ReplyDeletewe wrestled with a golden silk spider last week but mysteriously she packed her webs and moved on. great shot - she's (he's) a beauty
ReplyDeletebeautiful shot...i have had so many spiders like this around my house this year. we have left them all and watched them live, lay eggs, and spin a new web every day. it's funny that those little creepy crawlers are *not* my favorites, but i have really enjoyed watching them this year.
ReplyDeletewow, terrific spidey portrait! Their webs are really works of art, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteVery seasonal, indeed -- not just autumn, but perfect for Halloween!

We have had lots of spiders this summer and fall, I have to say this is the closest I have looked at them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great close up photo! Wow - I'm not sure I'd want to get quite that close to one!
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous spider! They play their part in the ecosystem, so I bear them no ill will. In fact, I really admire their hard work and their beauty.
ReplyDeleteLovely fall colors in the distance!
