daydream

I have a nice big window in my office with an amazing view up on the 18th floor. I have to say I spend a lot of time looking out that window – finding bunnies in the clouds, checking the traffic situation, watching the fog lift, seeing groups of friends walking to various lunch destinations, observing the dogs in training at the fire station, marveling at the trees bursting with autumn color, being struck by God's creation in the beauty of the ever changing cloud formations and the awesome brilliance of the setting sun or the moonlit sky. And yes, sometimes I just stare and daydream out that window – into that vast world out there with infinite possibilities, hoping if a window of opportunity comes my way I won't pull the shade down.

  8. I would imagine that the tediousness of life at your desk gets a sense of balance brought to it as soon as you turn and look out at that view. What a gift.

  9. I'm afraid I would spend far too much time at this window, solving the problems of the world as I daydreamed. What a great view, especially with the changing seasons. For much of the 21 years that I was a forensic nurse with the city and county of San Francisco, we were in a basement which people referred to as the "dungeon." That is certainly what it felt like!
