My weekly trip to Goodwill (actually there have been two different ones this week) gave me this extraordinary find.
I had been thinking about ordering an Ott-Lite from Jo-Ann's when my eagle eye spotted this one on a shelf for $2.00. The 50% off price at Jo-Ann's is $49.99 plus shipping and handling.
The sewing machine is a vintage Kenmore that I bought new in 1976. It has all steel gears. They don't make them like that anymore.
good for you! good bargin shopping
ReplyDeletedang!!!!! i've been looking at those too! they cost a fortune. lucky you!
ReplyDeleteThey obviously didn't know what they had! Score!

ReplyDeletefantastic! and i love the vintage machine too.
ReplyDeleteChar, I think that makes me vintage as well! :)
ReplyDeleteTraci, it's almost like vicarious shopping. That's when you go shopping with a friend and don't have money to spend, but you get excited about her purchases!
I miss my old vintage Necchi sewing machine so much...I thought I wanted an update and too late learned that sometimes old is best:)...
ReplyDeleteI never heard of Ott light before...special lighting? I love great finds like that tho!
Oliag, Ott-Lites are wonderful for task lighting, such as sewing or needlework or crafting. They also make them on stands. I've been wanting one for ages.
ReplyDeleteand i totally envy you. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find -- those lights are really great. I have an old Kenmore 10 (that I got in 1979 ...) with all metal moving parts, and you couldn't pay me to get rid of it!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love when this happens?
ReplyDelete:-)
love,
