Extraordinary find

My weekly trip to Goodwill (actually there have been two different ones this week) gave me this extraordinary find.

I had been thinking about ordering an Ott-Lite from Jo-Ann's when my eagle eye spotted this one on a shelf for $2.00. The 50% off price at Jo-Ann's is $49.99 plus shipping and handling.

The sewing machine is a vintage Kenmore that I bought new in 1976. It has all steel gears. They don't make them like that anymore.

  6. Char, I think that makes me vintage as well! :)

Traci, it's almost like vicarious shopping. That's when you go shopping with a friend and don't have money to spend, but you get excited about her purchases!

  7. I miss my old vintage Necchi sewing machine so much...I thought I wanted an update and too late learned that sometimes old is best:)...

I never heard of Ott light before...special lighting? I love great finds like that tho!

  8. Oliag, Ott-Lites are wonderful for task lighting, such as sewing or needlework or crafting. They also make them on stands. I've been wanting one for ages.

  9. What a great find -- those lights are really great. I have an old Kenmore 10 (that I got in 1979 ...) with all metal moving parts, and you couldn't pay me to get rid of it!
