...the water is our highway.
I live on Vancouver Island...a ferry ride from the mainland of Canada's west coast.
The ocean impacts our lives in so many ways and to some extent, defines who we are. We're Islanders and life is a little slower here and more laid back than on the mainland.
Sometimes we're called "tree huggers" and "granola crunchers" but really, we're just passionate about our beautiful island...and no, Birkenstocks, with or without socks, do not live in my closet!
My heart loves it here,
and that say's it all!
I could live here...absolutely gorgeous!

ReplyDeletei would love to live on a little secluded island. we went up to some islands in wisconsin once, took the ferry boat on and off...and they told us stories about when it got cold, you could drive over the ice or stay put. stay put. wouldn't that be just lovely! thanks for sharing you little part of the world!
ReplyDeleteLol, I love my Birkies! But then again, I'm from Bellingham which is not that far from Canada and everyone wears them. I've always wanted to live on an island like you do. Can't wait to see more beautiful shots from you.
ReplyDeleteI visited Vancouver Island in the early 70's and it remains one of my favorite places...someday I will have to find all my old slides of that trip...And I would not give up my Birkenstocks for anything!...especially my silver pair:)

ReplyDeleteWe have always wanted to visit the island, but haven't made it that far yet. The San Juan Islands, off the coast of Washington state may be similar? We have been there and totally love it. I have always wanted to live on an island...surrounded by the soothing and comforting water. Thank you for sharing - gorgeous.
